Find Someone to Contact
You don’t have to open every link. Pick one that addresses the thing stopping you from making contact. These resources help you look for care; they do not assess your symptoms or guarantee an appointment.
I want help finding a starting point
National Maternal Mental Health Hotline — 1-833-852-6262
Call or text, 24/7. Free, confidential support in English and Spanish; interpreter and relay options are described on the official page. Mothers, partners and family can contact it for emotional support and connections to resources.
“I'm looking for someone to speak with about postpartum mental health. I'm having trouble finding care in [area]. Can you help me look for resources?”

I want to search for services
FindTreatment.gov — SAMHSA’s service locator
Use the federal locator to look for mental health services. Contact a service directly about pregnancy/postpartum experience, availability, eligibility and cost.
“Does your service see people with concerns during pregnancy or after birth, and are you accepting new patients?”

I don’t have insurance, or cost is stopping me
HRSA — Find a Health Center
HRSA-supported health centers serve people with or without insurance or the money to pay for care. Ask the center about mental health services or referrals and what costs would apply to you. This is not a promise that every service is free or available at every center.
“I need help accessing mental health care, and cost is a barrier. What services or referrals can you offer, and what would I pay?”

I have insurance but don’t know who is covered
Contact member services using your insurance card or your insurer’s official site.
“Which mental health providers are covered by my plan? Do I need a referral or authorization? What will I pay for the first visit? Can you help me find someone accepting new patients?”
Confirm participation and fees with the office too. A directory entry is a starting point, not a booked appointment.
Childcare, travel, language or privacy is the barrier
Ask the service directly:
“I need [an interpreter / a remote appointment / to bring my baby / help with transport / a private way to receive messages]. What options do you have, and are there any costs?”
For the maternal hotline’s language and relay options, use its official information. Other services’ arrangements vary. You can make these requests without involving a partner.
